INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL

a summer festival of classical music

___

whose aim it is to bring top Czech and foreign performers to Třeboň and to offer visitors to the town music that at other times is only found on the most respected of Czech and world stages. Quality music played by well-known performers and the cosy atmosphere of the square or chateau in Třeboň combine to guarantee visitors to the festival an unforgettable, uplifting experience every year.

Dear Friends of Třeboňská nocturna

___

This year’s 15th Třeboňská Nocturna International Music Festival is sure to be defined by its closing concert and the performances of two outstanding solo artists: soprano Veronika Dzhioeva and tenor Alexey Tatarintsev. Both enchanted the audience with their performances, resulting in the other artists unjustly being put in the shade.

We undoubtedly have a bit of a “duel” on our hands with the top artists that perform at individual concerts each year. Their lack of knowledge of the surroundings, the standard of the festival, the maturity of the audience and the organisation skills to look after them to a high standard: these and a whole host of other questions always stand between us and the artists. It must be said, with a certain degree of satisfaction, that we have in the vast majority of cases been able to convince the artists that we are able to meet their demands, meaning they have left Třeboň enchanted. One small example might come from what Veronika Dzhioeva wrote on social networks right after the festival had come to an end: “It was unbelievable. Thank you so much for the invitation. You can be proud of a festival like this. It was an honour for us to work with such a professional team.” Alexey Tatarintsev also commented on social networks: “Thank you so much for the invitation. A great festival. Třeboň is a beautiful town.” It is wonderful that such outstanding artists, as Veronika Dzhioeva and Alexey Tatarintsev undoubtedly are, are able to make the cultural public more widely aware of us by talking about their experiences from Třeboň.

However, this year’s festival was not just about the closing concert. The performances of the Belfiato Quintet and pianist Martin Kasík enthralled the audience, who rewarded the artists with great ovations.

Třeboňská Nocturna is staged in historic rooms and in the courtyard of the Municipal Authority. And it is the last two concerts that are generally the most attractive to listeners and the biggest headache for us, the organisers. The weather this year was outstanding and if we add in the performances of Michaela Gemrotová and Marian Vojtko during Friday’s concerts of melodies from opera, operetta and musicals, the evening was a guaranteed success.

In fact we can say without fear of exaggeration that this year was a great success in general. During the festival, we also invited listeners to the 22nd Winter Season Concerts and to the programme of the 16th Annual Třeboňská Nocturna in 2019.

We look forward to seeing you at one of our concerts in the future.
