INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL

a summer festival of classical music

___

whose aim it is to bring top Czech and foreign performers to Třeboň and to offer visitors to the town music that at other times is only found on the most respected of Czech and world stages. Quality music played by well-known performers and the cosy atmosphere of the square or chateau in Třeboň combine to guarantee visitors to the festival an unforgettable, uplifting experience every year.

Dear Friends of Třeboňská nocturna,

___

Soon, the South Bohemian town of Třeboň will again become a meeting place for lovers of classical music and people who enjoy combining the historical sights of Třeboň with the beautiful experience of a summer’s evening and performances by outstanding artists from both the Czech Republic and abroad. During this year’s festival, which will take place from 8th to 13th July 2019, we will be welcoming one of the best young European horn players, Alexandre Collard from France, who won the Prague Spring competition last year. His performance with the Wihan Quartet at the official opening of the festival is sure to be a highlight. Other foreign guests will include artists from Hungary. For a long time, we have been thinking about celebrating a phenomenon of the first half of the last century - operettas. Following the arrival of musicals, operettas faded into the background and nowadays cannot be found anywhere. That is why we had to invite artists from the Budapest Great Operetta Theatre. Four soloists, together with the conductor Mónika Szabó, accompanied by the South Bohemian Philharmonic, will sing melodies that will take us back to the past in our memories.
